British navy escorts Russian warship near UK waters

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s Royal Navy has escorted considered one of Russia’s warships by the North Sea near U.Ok. waters, officers stated Tuesday, amid growing tensions between the 2 international locations.
The HMS St. Albans with 190 sailors on board was used to escort the Russian Admiral Gorshkov frigate on Monday by what British officers known as “areas of national interest” on Christmas Day.
In addition, a Royal Navy helicopter was used to trace different Russian vessels within the space.
The navy stated there was a latest surge in Russian vessels touring near U.Ok. waters. Officials stated that on Christmas Eve, a navy vessel was used to escort a Russian intelligence-gathering ship by the North Sea and English Channel.
